Power Restored To Camp Louis Ernst

After several decades without power, we are pleased to announce that electricity has been restored to Camp Louis Ernst. FOCLE President Gene Baker did an amazing job as the lead on this large project, assisted by board members Gary Lamb and Keith Baker.

No longer will you need to figure out how to use the generator at the Winter cabin, nor deal will you have to deal with the logistics of bringing your own to the dining hall. The generator at the Winter cabin will remain in place as a backup in case power were to go out. The electrical system that has been put into place also allows for future additions as we look towards the future of camp. Special thanks to the design engineers and operations staff at Duke Energy for seeing our vision for the camp's future and becoming our partners. Also, we could not have made this a reality without the support from Gene's Baker's friend who owns R.A. Pritt in Indianapolis. Not only did he donated the connecting hardware, but drove down from Indianapolis and contributed many hours of labor. The electricians involved refused to charge us a dime for their time or materials.
